Scenic Rim Trail
The new Scenic Rim Trail is a remarkable joint project between the Queensland Government Parks Department and Skroo Turner’s Spicers Retreats. Starting on Spicers land at Thornton and finishing at Cunninghams Gap, the public trail traverses 47km of private and public land stopping at three newly constructed public campsites administered by the state government. This trail is shown on the map below.
Meanwhile the Spicers version of the trail (not shown here) follows a similar route but stops at a number of luxurious venues including two private campsites in Main Range National Park and continues south to Spicers Peak. Click for the rather large PDF:

Family Bushwalks in SEQ – Second Edition
We were very pleasantly surprised at how quickly the First Edition of Family Bushwalks in South East Queensland sold out its initial print run of 2,500 copies. Following a question from a reader “Isn’t Toowoomba in SEQ?” we added a comprehensive Toowoomba Region chapter and beefed up the Somerset Region chapter for the Second Edition which is now available in shops and online at www.familybushwalks.com.au
