Half of the "Long"

Start>1 right along the road; in retrospect direct might have been better.
1>2 direct; others recommended left.

This is the first half of a two-loop course; foolishly wearing the wrong shoes I gave up half way.

50km SW of Brisbane CBD Cunningham Highway - Ipswich / Boonah Road - Carmichael Road - Purga Cemetery Road
"Red 2" 14 controls 5.2km 210m climb (4%)

A reasonably clean run although I ended the long climbing traverse to 12 by missing the control and passing by below, to relocate from the fence corner.

The numbers are upside down because I copied the course upside down.

"Long" 4.3km 265m climb (6.2%)

I found the terrain very tough, visibility due to undergrowth was bad, there was heaps of climb and I wasted a lot of time in and near the control circle on many controls and took 61 minutes (14.2mpk) which is not real good and CP beat me argh.

State Event, Samford Forest

"Red 2" 8 controls 4km 290m climb (7.3%)

The course was advertised as 6km but due to a scale confusion it was really 4km.
Start>1 Track all the way and aproach from the north
1>2 back the way I came
2>3 back the way I came
4>5 straight

I had a very clean run and took 51 minutes (12.8mpk) which is about right for such a steep area and was quite competitive.
