This was my event. I tried hard to keep it interesting while minimising climb. A stack of DNFs including one newbie rescued by Sascha, a lot of very damp and exhausted finishers confirms what a rugged area this is and what a rugged day it was!
Laurina took out course 1 in 37:33 (12.1mpk) and I collected the controls in 56 minutes (18.1mpk) which was quite a good placing...

I forgot to pre-enter so I got a grotty monochrome map with an unreadable course on it which I had to emphasise with biro before I started. I managed to draw in 14>21 but avoided that folly on the course. Familiarity with the map and the area meant I got by but the map was difficult to follow at times, in particular because grey (building overhead) looks the almost same as yellow and road. Consequently I wasted time in the circle at 1 and 2.
My time of 35 minutes was 10 minutes behind the winner but better than half way down the field.
