"Winter Classic" Cotswold Bluff, Maroon

09:00 Sunday 27th July 2008
"Cotswold Bluff" 2008 1:10,000 5m
83km SSW of Brisbane CBD
"Red 3" 15 controls 6km 355m (5.9%)
A beautiful place but the climb was a bit outrageous.
2>3 I contoured and missed the control which was tucked into the gully lower down than I expected. The splits show that only 2 of 9 on the course executed that leg well.
4>5 went left along the track
9>10 left along the track
12>13 left above the waterfall
13>14 vague - I drifted right
I took 90 minutes, a reasonable 15mpk in tough terrain, and won M45A in a field of 6, but was 3rd of 9 on the course with not a single winning split.

CATI, Daisy Hill State Forest, Daisy Hill

13:00 Saturday 19th July 2008
"Daisy Hill State Forest" 2001 1:10,000 5m
UBD 223B20 21km SE of Brisbane CBD
"Medium" 4.9km 140m (2.9%)
I think I won the medium in about 48 minutes.
Start>1 Straight to pick up the track, fairly vague; a road run to the south was the option
6>7 I clocked the hill as 56 contours high and went round but from 6 it's only 3 contours d'oh
8>9 Straight - the green isn't

Mid-Week Event, Bellbird Grove, Brisbane Forest Park

12:00 Thursday 3rd July 2008
"Bellbird Grove" 2000 1:5,000 5m
UBD 136Q6 14km NW of Brisbane CBD
"Long" 22 controls 4.1km 165m climb (4%)
I clipped 10 instead of 8 and Greg kindly told me at 9 so I lost interest and just couldn't be bothered with the final loop so DNF.
A good course from the Spriggs with reasonable climb.
